See exactly what’s happening on your sites, in real time.

Fuel retailers understand that effective maintenance operations are key to keeping their retail sites running smoothly and efficiently. This is crucial for customer satisfaction, revenue growth and building a strong brand reputation.

Focusing on repair and maintenance tasks, such as servicing coffee machines, inspecting fuel dispensing equipment and fixing HVAC units, contributes to this goal, however being able to see the complete picture of what’s happening with critical assets in real time is essential – especially when it comes to the operation, performance and maintenance of those critical assets.

Many equipment manufacturers, service providers and maintenance contractors will provide the maintenance and operations teams with access to their web portal or app to share data relating to assets that they are responsible for inspecting, servicing and maintaining.

This method of managing maintenance operations can be cumbersome and hugely frustrating. Maintenance teams often end up having to jump between multiple contractor portals to get an understanding of what’s happening on their sites, and still don’t have a complete picture of what’s working and what isn’t. Juggling lots of different platforms every day to get a view of a large estate of fuel retail sites is simply inefficient and prone to errors.

Relying on service providers and manufacturers to provide performance data means not having a real understanding or control of how a portfolio of sites is working.

Single point-of-reference

Having a single point-of-reference, such as Urgent, where you can see all your maintenance – both reactive and preventative, and all your assets – is essential to the smooth operation of forecourt maintenance.

A forecourt isn’t a set of disparate assets in the same location. Equipment of all kinds come together to form an interconnected system. A failure or breakdown in a single asset in the system, whether that’s a tank, gauge, fuel pump, the POS system, coffee machine or car wash, can negatively influence the whole system, and impact revenue, customer experience, and brand reputation.

Take an extreme, but not impossible, example. A driver loses control entering your forecourt, hits a fuel pump and crashes into the retail store. That’s a major incident, involving at least ten different contractors, ten different systems, and ten different insurance companies to notify and claims to make. Trying to manage an incident such as this using multiple manufacturer or contractor tools is likely to be time-consuming and imprecise.

But using a single platform – which takes data feeds from smart assets and third-party platforms as required – with a holistic view of your maintenance estate, means forecourt operators can more easily deal with any issues that come their way.

And it doesn’t have to be an extreme issue for fuel retailers to benefit from a single point-of-reference maintenance platform.

For example, when a fuel pump breaks down, it doesn’t just affect fuel revenue, it has a knock-on effect on coffee, shop and carwash sales. This can lead to longer waiting times for pumps, customer frustration, and even an increase in safety hazards and environmental damage, with fuel spills being more prevalent.
